Our little Homestead!

As small as it is it is ours. We have put a lot of work into it and it seems like every time we do something it leads to something else. The work is never done but it is what we choose to do. We try to stay green and do things smartly so as to enjoy what we have and not depend on big business for things we need. You always will have to buy things but if you can grow or raise something of your own it is so much better. By growing and raising your own food you know exactly what you have when you are done. This can be as simple as no pesticides or medicines in your food. I do hope you enjoy looking thru the things we have done.

What We Did!

We started out with a little under an acre of land and decided that was enough for us to take care of. If we could work it out right we figured we could make it work for everything we wanted to do. What we wanted to do was get as self suffient as we could. We wanted a garden for our vegetables and a place for the kids to play.

Our Humble Home.

We live in a small house which is around 1000 sq ft. The people who had it originally had a cement block foundation put in for it to set on instead of a cellar. They also had all of the windows replaced with smaller ones to help keep thier heating and cooling bills down. It had a front porch which I enclosed so we could get more use out of it in the spring and fall.
